This is my art, and sometimes other stuff.

My creative process is a synthesis of ideas and beliefs that are born out of the intangible aspects of life. For me, inspiration is found “between the lines” of human existence. Spontaneity, subconsciousness, and social constructs are three examples of the concepts that define my inspiration, and, in turn, foster my creativity. Every time that I create a work of art, I am attempting to interpret and portray these intangible concepts in a visual medium. These seemingly indefinable ideas drive my creativity because they are unique to every person. Because no two people experience the world the same way, the creation of artwork, inspired by intangibles, allows for a glimpse into the world of the artist. In the violent brush strokes of Vincent van Gogh, we can see his tumultuous thoughts. Through the broken planes and deconstructed forms of Pablo Picasso, we can see his analytic outlook. Thus, art becomes a physical manifestation of human experience, which inspires me to depict the world through my own eyes. These intangibles inspire me to bring together all of my thoughts, beliefs, and ideas and channel them into a medium which then becomes something wholly new. Inspiration is more than just admiring aesthetics or collecting cutouts from magazines. For me, inspiration is the catalyst of creation in its most pure form.
This was the essay that I had to write for my University of the Arts application. I have been trying to put this into words for a very long time.
My dog Jax died last night. Rest in peace, bud. I love you so much.
I took this in 2009. It’s my favorite picture of him.

My wall of paintings. Is it conceited to hang your own artwork in your room?
Planning out the base of a sculpture that I’ve been working on forever. It’s called Iceberg because the little clay mock-up that I did looks like an iceberg. I want to couple it with a second sculpture that looks like a boat and call that one Titanic or something. Maybe make them interlock.

Whenever we have slow days at work, I teach my co-workers how to do things in Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, etc. and it really makes me proud because they get so into it. Yesterday, we went over a few things in Photoshop, such as using alpha channels, basic frame animation, layer blending modes, and creating custom brushes. We sampled this brush from a tree bark texture. It’s nice to have something to offer in such a talented group of artists.
